Just a Clarification Before I Buy

I am considering buying a Kenwood KAC-8103D amp to power my single 12" Kicker CVR, but before I do I would like some clarification on the specs. According to Kenwood's website, the amp can do 500W RMS @ 2 Ohms. On Sound Domain's website, the amp can do 500W RMS @ 2 Ohms bridged. The amp does not need to be bridged to get 500W RMS @ 2 Ohms, correct?

Kenwood- http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/Amplifiers/KAC-8103D

Sound Domain- http://www.cardomain.com/item/KENKAC8103D

On a side note, any other suggestions for an amp that is under $120?

is ur cvr single voice coil or dual and what ohm,

2nd it is a mono amp it is one channel so it is always bridged i believe that amp has 2 speaker outputs and it bridges them internally u would not bridge it on the outside if ur using 1 svc sub just hook up to ine side not bridged

also what is the watts rms on the cvr,

this amp 500 watt rating is at 14.4 v i doubt unless u upgraded the hell out of ur electrical system ur car is constant 14.4 prob around 13.4-5 so it wont be 500 watts rms it will be less u have to look at alot of things when buying an amp not just rms watts, i would look in the clasifieds for a higher end used amp that will better suit ur needs

That'll be fine then

You can't 'bridge' a mono amp.

The dual outputs are simply run parallel internally, so it's like one set. It's just for ease of wiring two subs.

Looks like you'll be fine.
