Not the case actually.

A "stiff" spider setup with improper(or no) break in and over excursion were causing the spider to rip away from the former. This was not even a huge issue, just a few out there have seen these problems. Regardless it was addressed.

exactly... i think it was more guys just didnt want to properly break their subs in... and wanted to run full power on them right away. but as long as you break them in properly (just like you would with any sub).. the aq's will not dissapoint

 
I have never had to break in a sub. Out the box into the box then full power never had a issue. Im just saying ohh and my wmd2 has 4 stiff spiders and it got the full force of my 2200 right out the box. No issue at all. I am not saying aq's are bad from what I hear they changed up there spiders to resolve this issue.
