Judge my setup!

Would you care to explain why its a bad idea? Its something ive been pondering for a while now. To me it seems like it would work, Im not trying to start any S#!t. I just need some advice from the more experienced people. I know that it goes against the "norm" with setups, but some factual advice would be useful.

simplicity and cost....one amp, one sub vs. 2 subs and 2 amps or 1amp and a crossover network

you will most likely not notice the difference between running just the 15 and running both

Why in the same box?
I was kidding.

The reason it doesn't work is this, both waves in the trunk out of sinc will cause cancellation and sound bad.

Plus why bother. You don't want substage playing above 100hz they arnt built for that. It will sound bad. If you have room for a 15 to get low hz easier then go a single 15 if you mussssst have more midbass put 8s in the doors.

I have 6.5 comps that are light and shallow with 1 12 and its great midbass.

What your suggesting is 2 substages abd that's just to much work as well your doing all that work for no gain. Nothing special will happen.

People do 8s and 10s with the 8s in the doors but those 8s are midbass drivers not subs

So there is some more information. Again don't bother. Put the 10" sub and amp money into comps up front.

Cost and simplicity is not really one of my main concerns. Ive gotten bored with single sub, dual sub, large box, small box, ported, sealed, configurations. They all seem to be lacking something the other can produce. For the longest time I ran 2 Rockford 12 Hx2's in a fair sized sealed box, It hit the lows good, but overall sounded muddy. Then I switched to w6v2's, they sounded GOOD, but lacked the low end of the Rockfords. After a few more configs, I tried a crappy Kicker Comp 10 in a sealed box running on about 120w rms. In certain songs, the Kicker 10 punched you in the chest harder than any setup I had before. I couldnt believe my ears, and I have picky ears. Thats why I think 1 of each would be nice!

Oh and I have plenty of rc

What does your front stage consist of?

Front stage is Pioneer REV 6.5 coaxial with about 75w rms going to them.

For all those who think cancellation will be an issue, this is how I see it: If you have two equal sized subs playing 50hz, why dont they cancel each other out? 50hz is 50hz wether its from a 10 or a 15 correct? Or does it have something to do with the phase? Either way, each sub will be specifically crossed over to play their respective freqs. So cancelling shouldnt be a problem. Again this is my THEORY, but it makes sense to me.

I knew I was gonna catch some bullets for asking such a question, but if it you think outside the box, it just like what nbudros said: a 2 way woofer.

this cancelation hype is BS!!!!! i in no way support it because it is almost as stupid as mixing 2 different kinds of subs. it looks like you dont know what your doing, and have just thrown whatever you have lieing around into your car and tried to make it louder. BUT, i have just for fun tried putting many different size, and brand subs into the same car in different boxes, and they have ALWAYS made my car louder!!!!! i dont know why but there is no reason why adding more subs shouldnt make it louder, its just common sense.
