John Pierce, I need some help.

hey my friend. sorry to tell ya that is 99 percent chance that it is coil lol. You should hear a little crunch when you push down. or it shouldnt move as far as it typically would. See almost all the subs I have blown (from glue melting) the coil unwinds from the bottom. The top on all of mine looked perfect like yours. I don't know the scientific reason on why the bottom seems to be where the glue lets go(wait I just had a thought... theory only. But much of the cooling is the pole piece and the cooling areas under the spiders. and the pole piece kinda shoots up into the top of the coil as well so thus the best cooling would be around the top of the coil and the worst would be at the bottom ha ha oh yeah baby I am da sh*t. . theory only till proven) but makes sense why when my glue lets go it always seems go from the bottom.

well if the tinsel's look good then that is what it is. The coil. I had the SAME problem with the rattles and part of the coil was unglued. Fact is. if it is testing 300 plus ohms something is disconnected. whether is it a tinsel lead or the coil. If it isnt the lead then there ya go

Well I will read later. its late and going to bed. But honestly even if gains are set correctly. Box can GREATLY reduce power handling depending on size and tuning. Also if the sae 1000d is anything like the 1500d it will put out the true 1000 watts even with imp rise. Most 1000 watt amps probably will see around 700 watts with imp rise.
