JL set up

i bought a car from a friend...and it came with 3 10" JL W3's and 2 12" kicker comps. im going to sell the kicker comps for sure. i want to add on 3 12" JL W3's to my 3 10s...will this sound good? or should i just sell them all? If i did sell them...would a couple type r's do the trick? im goin for spl but i want pretty decent sq...sorry for all the questions....OPEN TO ANY OPINIONS!

Keep your setup you have now get rid of the kickers and get another w3 and a Jl 1000/1 amp should friggin rock ya.

heres my advice... if youu want to get more subs just get the same sub. don't get another brand nor another size b/c that will just add distortion to your music.

Both JL and Alpine, make a good SQ/SPL subwoofer, i would get rid of the kickers and forget about mixing and matching sizes and brands, dumb idea...instead keep the 3 10w3's and add more 10w3's if you want more or do 12w3's instead of 10's and do the same thing. But 3 10w3's should rock your world so i don't see why you would want more.

Since you want high SPL, just out of curiosity, are you planning on using this for serious competing?

If you are leaning more on high SPL with DECENT SQ and plan on competing, I'd not use JLW3's...they are great subs, but are much more focused for SQ rather than SPL. I would get rid of the kicker comps and listen to it, then decide if you want more bass. If you do, I'm sure we'll be able to steer you in the right direction

im not lookin to compete..not yet at least. i think im just gonna add 3 more JL W3's...i was wondering if 3 W3's could take on 2 12" L7 Kicker Solobarics....what about 6 W3's?

are w3's as loud as rf hx2's?? id say that the 3 w3's would be better than 2 L7's. really just make a decent ported box and set up w/amp good.
