It doesn't matter if you end up with a jabillion rms amp or a 1000rms sub. As long as it's gains are set accordingly it will only put out a certain amount to the subwoofer. Amps don't bow subs idiotic people do. My advice, get a ZX because if your like anyone else on this site you will most likely upgrade, so give your self room to upgrade. Just set your gains right with any amp and you'll be fine.

that kicker is just too big to put in my car [under the seat] i need something with a width less than 10 in and a lengh of around 14 in

ima go ahead and get the jl audio g-max. it works for the RESE12 and it give me the option of upgrading my sub if i want to. i aint been able to fing too much info on this amp but it has nice price of $350 and its a reputable company
