Jl Cleansweep installed. Hmmm...

sup fellas....so i JUst got this installed today at a reputable shop/owner near my house.

setup was good, but there's one problem...i'm hearing a loud static in the backgound. it's not like ear blowing loud, but it's surely noticeable when the volume is down. the dealer said that it isn't a technical issue, but it is the product itself.

i heard some good things from cleansweep owners, so i doubt that this can be the case. plus with such a hefty price tag, there can't be this static noise in the background...

does anyone kno what could be the issue? any tips on how to fix this problem? thank in advance!

BTW, this was the dealers first time installing cleansweep.

My friends at the local audio shop installed a few of these, I heard two of the systems, and neither had any type of static in the sound (they were pretty expensive installs, the customers wouldn't have been happy with that).

I don't know what the problem is, but it can simply be the unit. Its not supposed to be there, go back to the shop and have them look at it properly.

BTW, can you here the static all the time? At what volumes? Is it with all sources? What kind of car is it? What does the rest of the system consist of?

take it back to the store, let them listen to the 'static' tell them either they fix it or you want your money back.

you can only hear the static when the sound is minimal...the sound at hugher levels hides the static.

I don't think any product is made to produce static, I say they didn't know what they were doing either/or messed up somewhere in the install.

i can tell that the static is distorting the subs/comps.

I had this problem with an active x-over as well...

If you have suckass RCA cables that may be a contributing factor...
