I have loved my JL amps and can't see a reason to change but I may go with 12's in the new truck so I was think 2000 watts instead of a 500/1 or 1000/1 and since that is the largest JL makes do I so with 2 JL 1000/1 for the subs or something else? I read several forums and hear about the different flavors of the month and some say JL is pricey or this and that but they do build a solid product regardless of cost and I have been very happy but I am open minded so opinions please.

If you like your jl slash amps you wont be happy with something inferior, a 1000/1 is a pretty beefy amp. I heard 2 13w7 hooked up to a 1000/1 and it was quite impressive. I know there are better amps out there but expect them to cost a pretty penny. If you buy a hifonics or other cheap 2000 watt amp, I dont think youll get the same sq or durability. JMO
