So do JBL amps...

actually the JL amps ahve the smae pwoer at almost EVERY load it is presented with.

I think thats so that i doesnt really matter the resistance of you speakers, ti will always work...

Originally posted by jlman I would get a 250/1 for those type Es. A 500/1 would smoke those subs in a matter of minutes if wired in parrlell.
but the type-e are 200W rms...so w/ the 500/1 wouldnt it be 250W per sub?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Lets just say 250W from a JL amp is not the same as 250W for an Alpine sub. The 500/1 is designed to run 2 W3s (which are rated at 250W RMS) and if you look into the specs, the W3 is a much much bigger sub than the Type E. I personally had Type S and maybe those could handle the power, but you'd still be pushing them very hard. Go with JL subs and amp, good combination of SQ, SPL, and cost.

to make wiring easy....at any load, say 2 or 4ohm for example, the power output will be the same, especially thanks to JL's RIPS system, which means it doesnt matter whether the voltage is 12V or 14,4V, unlike some amps which will do Xrms at 14.4v but will drop down to Yrms, y being a lower output in my example at under 14.4V, when your engine is off for example.

i think the type-e and type-r are exactly the same?

how is the W3 a bigger sub? are you talking about the magnet size? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

also, im sorta low on cash..... so if i got a 250/1 would i still be able to power two 10" with it? probably the W1 or W0, right? how wouild the sq of this setup be?

thanks!

No the type looks the same as the Type S, but the magent and woofer design varies. The Type S is a slightly better speaker. Anyways, two 10w0 on a jl 250 is a proven good combination. I have heard it numerous times. If you get well designed box you can have lots of bass and good SQ. I think they are very good forthe price you can find them at (90 retail)

i dunno...i could get two 10" type-e for $130 plus i listened to um at circuit city. sound great for the price imo.
