This may be a dumb question, but the amp is suppose to be 500rms from 1.5-4ohms. My question is... Are the JL Amplifiers 1ohm stable?

Okay, thanks! I was wondering if I could wire my subs at 1 ohm or just stick with 4ohm.

But MMATS amplifiers can go down to 0.5 Ohm, just in case your looking for an amp that will go lower.

i ran mine @ 1ohm for a good month with no problem but dropped it back to 4 ohms. I really just wanted to see what it could do and it was strong as hell.

It's actually rated at 500 W RMS @ 1.5 ohm - 4 ohm, so anything over 4 ohms may result in power loss and nothing else I guess.

I had a 250/1 and got it down to 1.333, but it would go into protect at 1 ohm. The amp is rated to output the same power a 1.5 to 4 ohms. Somewhere around 250 at 8 ohms. If you were to run it at 8.1 you would probably cause a massive chain reaction in the power supply which would spike the voltage to 1.21 jigawatts requiring you to get a flux capacitor, Mr. Fusion and a couple of old beer cans to run it.
