JL 12w6 questions

Hi, I just bought 2 12w6's and they came with a JL 500/1 amp. my head unit is an Alpine ida-x305. I was wondering what kind of settings would be recommended on the amp? I'm definitely getting a power booster for my head unit, and a JL 1000/1 very soon, I just want to keep my w6's safe for now. I was also wondering if anyone out there had any experience with this set up(the 2 12w6's with the jl 500/1 amp). any info or suggestions you guys could put out there would be appreciated too, I don't have a lot of experience with these things. Whats a power booster?

I have heard 2 of those in a sealed box with that amp and the power i would say is enough for 1. I didnt like how they sounded, even though i did like how one sounded in a ported tuned to 30hz 1.8cu/ft.

put your gain to whatever your amp output is, line out volts.

Whats a power booster?

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the external amplfier upgrade that Alpine offers as an add-on for their head units. It boosts the power to 45 watts rms per channel...

hahah yea power pack*** sorry. I just want to make sure i dont put the gain too high, right now i have it 3/4 of the way up. on some songs the bass stays fine but the front speakers get all distorted when i crank it.

i'm not good with HU's...

your pushing the front speakers, i would suggest turnig the bass down on your HU, easy fix
