its cheap, but is it that bad?

Bahahahahahaa. You need a handsaw, drill and a screwdriver. A jig saw would be easier, but not needed. A sheet or two of MDF, cheap caulk and some drywall screws for materials. That's 50 bucks. Gimme a break dude. I can see that you really are just full of crap
so a single handsaw eh? You either use a ripsaw and you cant cut a hole with it , or you use a mitre saw but then it  would take hours to rip a 4 foot section of .75 mdf. so which one will you use?

you post some dumb ****

My point, dumbshit, is that it takes almost no tools to build your own enclosure. How would it take hours to cut a 4 foot section of mdf using a mitre saw? It would take any normal person about 5 mins & some sweat to cut 4 ft of mdf with a hand saw. Plus, to cut the circle, you could trace the cutout that the sub sits in in its cardboard box, and use a jigsaw. or drill holes all the way around your traced circle and punch out the remaining pieces of wood. The circle does not need to be perfect in order to be airtight.

Is this **** really that far over your head?

you ok man? never seen you get aggressive on here. you are right tho, ive only not got some mdf and gone at it for my subs because i dont think i could carpet it very well and there is a slight chance that i might be changing cars and would want the port in different locations on my current car (pointing thru the ski hole) vs the other car (passenger side due to the 60/40 split folding seat)

you ok man?
Yeah, just can't stand people making excuses - my kids do that enough. If a person doesn't want to put forth effort to learn, then go buy something that someone made - but stop saying its great because everyone's doing it, so it must be great.. blah blah blah. Basically, my words are an extension of how other people felt in this thread before I started replying to it.. lol.

I bought one enclosure like 17 years ago and it was a piece of crap, cost 3.5 times what I have made them for ever since and that was a sale price - granted at least it was sealed and thats fairly easy to match a sub to. Ultimately I learned that that was a stupid buy... and the advantage of a forum is to help other people not make that same dumb mistake.

Whew... I get scared posting sometimes anymore... so much aggression out there

Even Gramps is learning how to respond... well... somewhat

gramps does have good intentions, i respect that. sometimes he hold onto a misguided idea for too long, but as long as he isnt a dick, which i havent seen from him, im not gonna hate on him.
