Issues setting up new system

I recently installed new speakers/subs and amp on my kids car but I'm a novice so when it came time to upgrade the sound on my own new car I decided to take it to the professionals and I'm wondering if I made a mistake. I have a brand new 2014 Chevrolet SS I decided on having Hybrid speakers in the four doors, J&L sub and enclosure in the trunk and two J&L amps, the sound is amazing however when the sound is low you can hear the subs hissing and the dorr chimes and car pings and bells are very very loud. When I took it back he told me they had to take the signal from the stock Bose amp and thus you gte these sounds, they turned down the gains but the sound is now crap, no better than before.

Like I said I not a professional but i'm not happy with the sound and I seem to be getting nowhere with the shop.

I'm assuming the background amp hissing is because there amping the stock amp, right, wrong?

Am I missing something, are they bullshitting me about not being able to take the signal from the stock head unit?

Any help would be very appreciative and I'm getting really pissed!

So you upgraded the speakers and added a sub, but kept the factory hu? Sounds like they tapped in at the wrong spot. Did they use a standard loc? The hissing is always a good sign that the gains are too high.

They said they had to tap into the std amp, even though I don't need anything from the std ampr or speakers. Sorry for being a total noob, whats a standard loc?

you have nice equipment capable of good sound. the noise is due to the combination of the stock amp and interface for the amp.

GM hasn't been kind to aftermarket sound systems since 2001. They can snag the output before the Bose amp if they had a wiring schematic - but they don't and won't be able to get one. Chevy/Bose don't share that.

I agree they should have the amp gains at a minimum setting since they are probably using the high level inputs.

a LOC is a line output converter. it reduces the signal amplitude so speaker level outputs (high voltage) can feed RCA inputs (low voltage). but most amps also have speaker level inputs.

start by simply turning the amp gains down - or start by telling us what the gains are set at currently.
