Is this sub built to be ported or sealed??

Based on these specs for this budget woofer, was it built to be ported or sealed.....

Hifonics HFi12D4 - 12" Subwoofers - Sonic Electronix

What kind of box would they SOUND the best in?? Could they get loud n low ported but still sound good on rock?? Or if sealed how would they sound...

Sealed. But I've got two ported and they sound good.

I cant find much info on either, what frequency to tune to, box specs that are preferable...

I was thinking of doing 8 of them, either in a wall with small port, or sub up port back

But I can always wall 8 of them SEALED.... but I dont know if that would have much output

sealed but most people wont let the specs stop them from building a ported. as far as sounding good on rock, WTF?

I listen to mostly new rock but like to pound some lows on decafs stuff and linkin park n stuff like that.

Im getting 8 cause well Ive never had 8 subs before lol.

I wanna make this install permanent, but cant decide what to do with the 8 of them

its a pathfinder, not that much room and I want room for camping gear lol. I was thinking in the area of 18 cubes NET portedbut if I went sealed I obviously would have alot more room

lol, well, an insanely low tuned ported would have the lowest flat extension, but with your volume fitting requirements and the EBP of those subs I'd personally run them sealed. The EBP is a lil low to get proper response from them vented and the Qts will request a large net volume for the subs to have a nice +/-dB deviation. After running the TSP's no matter what you put them in it's gonna sound horrible, lol. Heres a graph for ya showing their resonses, the S4 version is alot more usable, the High Qts ruins the potential of the subs for anything other than IB.
