Where Am I???
I’m doing calculations to build a box for (2) 15” Kicker COMPVRs. This is what I have so far:
(Vb) Internal Dimensions: 11,355.80 in^3
(Fb) Tuning Frequency: 32 Hz
(Av) Port Area (face): 152 in.^2 (4 in. x 19 in.)
(Lv) Port Length: solving for
Then I plugged it into the equation in George’s ported box building thread:
-Lv = (Av)*1.84*10^8/[(Vb)*1728*((Fb)/0.159)^2] - 0.823*sqrt(Av)
-Lv = 152*1.84*10^8/[(11,355.80)*1728*(32)/0.159)^2] - 0.823*sqrt(152)
-Lv = -10.11 in.
Is this right, cause I don’t think Lv should be negative? Oh, and would I be better off calculating the port wall length for just one chamber and then apply the wall length to both? Cause I’m building 1 port per chamber, so there will be 2 separate ports in total when all is said and done.
Also, the (Av) Port Area measurement above is the combination of both of the separate ports I’m talking about.
