Is this Boss amp crap?

I need a second amp for my highs. I was thinking about putting it on my Eminence speakers. They're not the greatest most expensive speakers in the world so im not gonna spend much over 100.00 for a 2 ch. amp for them. They are 100 rms each and the amp is rated at 150rms X 2. Any idea what it really puts out or is the 150 accurate you think?

you wont see more than 200 watts outta that crap.......get something a little better, maybe like power acoustik, or audiobahn. While those still arent the best, they are still way better than boss.....

Here's a pretty decent option for the budget-minded...

Click here and scroll down to the 600SX. It isn't labeled as a refurb and lists that it comes with a 2-year warranty so my guess is that it's NOS (New Old Stock) that someone ran across in a warehouse.

Rated output is shown as 150w X 2 @ 4 Ohms and probably falls just shy of that in actual output.

Profile isn't the best by any means but in my own personal experience they are reliable units and to get 125w/channel X 2 channels for around $100/shipped brand new including a valid manufacturer's warranty it will be tough to beat.

I'm certain there are other options available to you but Profile is generally my goto suggestion for someone on a budget due to my own personal experience with their gear and the amp I linked you to fits into your stated $100 budget (it is listed for $85 and I cannot imagine shipping to be more than $15 or so)

honestly, if people continuously look for low end entry level stuff cuz they wanna get into the hobby cheap... profile will keep getting brought up. brands like Boss, Scosche, lightening, pyramid and pyle are far below anything I would recomend even to the cheapest of cheap *****. If people keep asking for the cheapest amps they can possibly get, I guess the best advice I can give is to go to Ikesound.com and check what they have for refurbs from Hifonics, Profile, Directed, Orion, Viper and PPI (the last 4 listed are all currently owned by DEI witch I will always recomend for quality amps!)

The most important frequencies to having good sound are the mids and highs.

Dont try to cheap out too much in powering them, you'll regret it later.

I understand a lot of companies that make bargain basement garbage also make some decent stuff. Just like Pyle, they have been known to have some decent pro audio equipment... but Pyle car audio and Pyle Pro Audio are 2 entirely different beasts.....

as for the comment about DEI... I will admit PPI and Orion of 5 years ago are far higher on my list than PPI and Orion under DEI... BUT, again, I am compairing mostly with the lowend price range everyone seems to be interested in more than saving for a longer period of time and being happier with their purchase.... live and learn i guess...
