Is this amp good for these subs?

What kind is it???? It may be temporarily ok to push those but i personally would be saving up for a better amp later on. It most likely, in my opinion, won't sound very clear or really push out that amount of power on 2 ohms. If you get it, let us know how it sounds and what kind it is. Maybe i'll have to eat these words, but i doubt it!!! Good luck!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

i would not recomend getting that sub... looks and sounds to good to be true. the watt rating listed are all MAX and not rms and probably will not be very clean power. for that amount of money you can get a better name brand amp from MTX or Rf (to name a couple) with some respectible watts. all though you will probably have to upgrade your amp later on for a real watt monster to feed your subs well.

sorry my bad, i did mean to say "amp". it was 2am and i am on percocet for a sprained neck and shoulder. i will try to be more alert next time. lol.

Let's look at what they say about it.

1600 WATT HIGH END COMPETITION MOSFET 4CH AMP

BRAND NEW 2002 AMP 5225RTX HIGH END COMPETITION SERIES Check out the Size 1 foot wide and over 2 feet long!

First off something this size is a good thing ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

4 Channel Mosfet Bridgeable Amplifier Max. Power Output: 400W x4Ch.= 1600W @2.0.

Wow 400w x 4 but notice no mention of thd here

Power Output: 165W x 2Ch.(@2.0.) Less Than 0.5% THD 110W x 4Ch.(@4.0.) Less Than 0.3%THD Bridge: 330W x 2 Ch.(@4.0.) Less Than 0.5% THD All Measurements Done @ 14.4V DC, 1 KHz Input Signal.

I guess these are supposed to be the RMS ratings. My only question is how does this amazing amp put out 330w x 2 @4ohm. But only 165w x 2 @2ohm. Sound impossible !! You may ask yourself is it possible ? Well guess what kids it is mathematically and physically impossible

Dual VU-Meter 2 OHM Load Capable Dual Fan Cooling System. LPF (Low Pass Filter) Variable 30Hz-250Hz HPF(High Pass Filter) Variable 50Hz-l KHz. Slope Adjustable 12-24dB. Variable Bass Frequency(30Hz-120Hz). Variable 0-18db Bass Boost. High & Low Adjustable Level Input. Dual LED Indicated Power Status (Protect/Power).

Blah blah blah

Mosfet DC-DC Switching Power Supply.

Being powered by a car battery and alternator I would certainly hope so

Built-in Protection Against Short Circuit, High Temperature & Overload.

blah blah blah

Auto Power On/Oft By Remote (+12V)

What a break through concept. What does it say about the quality of the amp if this is one of the features they took the time to list

. Dimensions(mm) : 300(W) x57(H) x 697(L) 11.8 Inches(Wide) x2.24 Inches(High) x 2Feet 2.3Inches (Long)[/i]

Once again being this large is a plus ?

I would try and steer clear of this amazing product. Save a little bit more money and buy a JBL 600 it will be well worth it. And money well spent //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I recommend wiring to the 2 ohm load on the amp you stated you have, or you can wire to an 8 ohm load for amp stability. You can wire one sub to...
