is this a problem?

ok guys i need your suggestions on this...last week ive noticed that my stinger Expert RCA( this is the best one out of stinger) the shielding or you can call it outer layer kinda of came off. And you can see the wires that contain inside the RCA..but nothing inside is damaged. it is probably 2CM the coating came off. I guess while the installation this happend, i was just wondering if this will cause any sort of noise? I just wrapped it with electrical tape. I dont seem to tell any difference, but is there something i would not be able to notice, or its perfectly fine?

you shouldnt have any problems. but if something arises then that should be the first thing you check

my car audio shop guy said its fine..it wont effect anything...i guess its worth the $75 for an RCA...

what the hell are you talking about? where do you see 75$ for something? and do you have your shop guy on speed dial? lol

I think his point was that the RCAs were $75 *cringe*. They are twisted pair design. Noise won't be an issue even without the shield. I will say though that if you had the shop do the install and they damaged one of the cables (especially one that expensive) in the process, it's on them to replace the damaged cable.
