Is this a good subwoofer/amp setup?!?!

I jus installed two 12 kicker cvrs in two seperate sealed boxes in an x-runner and I am pleased with them. For a $175 they are nice, thats what I paid anyway.

Okay my suggestion now out the window, I still believe you can do better than CVR's in a prefabricated enclosure for $400.

The CVR is somewhat of Kicker's low power "SQL" driver.

Explore your options would be my advice.

I'd hate to break it to you, but for $400, you are definitely wasting your money. If it were like, a $125 craigslist buy, it wouldn't be so bad, but for $400, there are a TON of options that would put this to shame.

Agreed. The CVR's are fine fore a budget build, but only when they're ~50 bucks a pop.

I'd really suggest you explore some other options, if you haven't already bought these.

Were you planning on buying from SonicElectronix?

Kicker = "ok" entry level but man are you getting ripped out the *** for them that setup is like 150 for real you buyin a geo metro at cadillac prices. Some of us have been into car audio for a long time. We could recommend equipment that'll be better, or at least comparable to that Kicker stuff you linked...at a better value.

For example, the zx750.1 is $210 from the cheapest online seller I can find, and it's refurbished at that. For an extra $39 you could buy an Audioque AQ1200D. The Audioque is more powerful than the Kicker, it's 1 ohm stable and their reputation is solid.

Then there's the matter of Kicker CVRs. I've personally owned a pair of 12" CVRs. They aren't terrible subs, but if you're spending more than $125 for a pair of them you're being ripped off.

Why not at least consider a pair of the Audioque SDC2.512-D4s and the Audioque AQ1200D? It'd set you back less than $550 and it would literally take shits on the CVRs and zx750.1...
