Just installed deep cell and the big 3 but still drop voltage. H.O. alt next step?

I just got a Deka Intimidator in my Trailblazer and I have the big 3 done in Knu Konceptz 4 gauge, one deep bass songs I drop to pure battery, 12 volts, now would next thing to do to sustain voltage be an H.O. alt or what? I'm only running the 900 watts my amp gives and TB's have a stock 140a alt so I was just a little curious as to the next step in beefing up my electrical.

do you have more than one battery? have you checked your alt out at a parts store to make sure its ok? it shouldnt be doing that with that low of a load, but it may not be charging right

I've been suspicious of having a bad alt because I have weird voltage fluctuation when revving, got a lot better with the new battery though. I'm gonna end up taking it in, just trying to get ideas. Yeah, only one battery.

You should probably have your alternator tested first. And even before I went the HO alt route, i'd add a second battery to the back, something small like a Kinetik HC600/HC800, or anything similar.

Would it help to toss my year old everstart maxx battery in the back? Just took it out the front
Was that originally what was under the hood? Or is it just an extra battery laying around? I thought you were using the Deka in your sig. Either way, most people would suggest against using a standard battery in the back for various reasons; most say only to use a sealed AGM type battery.

The Deka in my sig just went in today, up until today I had that battery up there. It wasn't doing too well with the wattage, the AGM is a much better voltage buffer. I was doing a little testing and I think it's my alt because with the car off I drop about .5 volts at the amp, and with the car on I drop around 1.2.

Yeah, just bring it to autozone or somewhere to have it tested.

a check your alt asap, anything bad in your elctrical such as old battery or alt will hurt your voltage not help it, and as long as your everstart is good and holds a charge then id say do it, im throwin an old duralast in my back pretty soon

I'll probably end up doing that Saturday since I work tomorrow. Do I have to remove it to get it checked?

If my alt ends up being good I might throw that in the back temporarily until I can get a Kinetic.

Yeah, you'd have to pull it out for them to check it.
Alright, I'll probably get that done next week, I forgot I'm installing an amp/sub for my cousin saturday. Nothin special, a Quantum Audio amp and MB Quart sub... but back to my issue. If it is bad I was looking at Power Bastards for 300, Knu Konceptz for 250, or I found some 200a on ebay for 150. I'd call the ebay shops for the output at idle but what do you think about those?

Truthfully, I can't really help you much more besides suggest popular companies since I don't have much first hand experience with aftermarket companies. Take a look at Mechman, DC Power, and Ohio Generator.
