Is there a proper way to store a battery?

If I leave it in a box on carpet should it be fine...? Is there a particular way to store it? Will the charge drain? Thanks....

You're fine. If you wanna be ultra safe just trickle charge every now & again til you install.

They sellsmall "trickle" chargers (some cool solar power ones aswell) that just keep the battery at optimum levels, I got a solar power trickle charger for $25
