Is TC Sounds Inc. done forever?

It depends. Think about "New Coke"....a horrible idea that nearly destroyed the company. They are doing okay. I can list several examples where *new management* turned a company around. But I am not into the speaker business. I am thinking it would be a nice conduit as it has hard assets.
But who did "New Coke" piss off? Their customers or supplier base?

Regardless of the fact that Coke enjoys the best brand-name recognition on the planet, pissing off some of your customers is forgiveable. There are always people that are bound to not like you and what you're doing.

But there are a finite amount of people in the world that make speaker parts - pissing off your suppliers is a much, much more dangerous game //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I doubt I'd make a single speaker....I wish I knew more about what they actually own/possess.

yeah, but coke also had a reputable name to start with. TC couldnt be much farther from this scenario...

im speechless

im celebratory.

True, but it's just a big cycle.

Coke pisses off their customers, their suppliers see that they're not doing well, and start raising their supplier prices or start pulling out all together; noticing Coke or whomever isn't doing as well as they used to.

I see exactly where you're coming from, but it's all a big chain. Piss one sector of your business off, the other sectors are bound to notice and begin to become pissed of aswell.

if no one has since made contact with the owners of TC, then judgment cant really be passed on, the internet is notorious for being the greatest rumor-mills of all time, (aside from the game telephone of course...) this could very well be a well orchestrated prank that someone waisted WAY too much time on, and decided to put a scare into the market by posting this on a few heavily trafficked CA forums.. im not saying that is what happened. but, it is a possibility..until then..prices and parts for anything TC may go down, which might be what they wanted..-mj

Back to the Coke thing, in one of the WalMart's here the Coke rep pissed off the WalMart manager and they stopped carrying Coke products for over a month, they lost a LOT of money in sales. It drove my business up (I work for Pepsi) but it's true, piss off one person in the chain and things can get pretty shitty for you.

seems like everyone is taking this as gospel without confirmation.
Indeed.

I think the BIG question here is, not that if TC sounds will still be around or not.....or if their technology will be still incoporated into new applications. But weather Thilo will still pursue his surfing hobby. We need to examine the HARD truth here people.
Agreed.

any words from thilo, dont some people on this forum talk to him?
They do, but the people who have ethics are not going to spill the guts. I wouldn't do that. I knew of AP being sold on partsexpresses several days before it was posted on this forum, as did others I'm sure. But I don't speak of anyone's plans to do something, give up their info, etc. It would be like someone from the stands going into the huddle of the last play in the super bowl and telling the other team what play they are going to run. It is best to let things take their course, because there is ALOT of hearsay going on and people making assumptions when they know don't the whole story or even anything at all about what is going on.

so does this mean there may be some lower priced tc/ap drivers gettin thrown around, from people tryin to dump them????
Even if the company were to fail, why would their product lose value? Look at Adire and their Brahma. I still see people selling them around what they used to be sold for when around (talking about selling them used).

I'm sure someone will buy their designs and patents. That should keep the products going, not the name though.
As far as I know, you can't buy patents. They expire IIRC.

talk about a rumor millthis a total shock

im speechless

Just a mill right now, give it some time and who knows what it'll become.

Wal-Mart has the kind of clout that allows them to do that, hold their suppliers by the balls...they say go to RFID, and poof, it happens //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

TC could only wish for that kind of influence //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yeah now the rumors go flying, everyone jumps on the anti-tc bandwagon..typical of this forum
Werd. I still stick behind TC and Thilo. Thilo is a great guy, funny as hell too. Products are of great quality and they have made some interesting and neat drivers (ones that haven't even been put into production). I'd love to own an 18" 5400 with honeycomb neo motor. Talk about low end.
