If the reason he's looking at it is to check who she's been talking to (as in, for the purpose of snooping) then yes.

If he just stumbled across it when he was checking it for some other reason, no, but the further pursuing of it is still wrong (although justifiable imo). I would probably do the same, except I'd just confront her about it
