Is my subwoofer/amp dying?

I have a basslink connected to an Alpine 9887.

All of a sudden, sub volume is TOO LOW no matter what I set it to.

I put in a test CD with a 40Hz tone, crank it up and it WAKES UP. Works fine for a day or so and then dies again.

It keeps doing this all the time. Sort of needs a kick to push it and start playing normally. What could possibly be causing this?
