Is my speaker blown?

For my front soundstage i have the Alpine Type-r components.. 5x7 inch, powered bya PG R8.0:4. It seems like whenever im playing a CD, my front right speaker has a slight crakcle to it? I only noticed this when i put my new head unit in.. The Pioneer Avic-n3.

Is my speaker blown? Or is it a bad connection or what? Any tips on how to check it? I previously had tinsel slap on the right speaker, but i fixed that..

The speakers are rated at 60 RMS/ 300 Peak; the amp is 75 RMS / 125 peak.

I turned the bass all the way down and you could still hear it. So I assumed it must not be a rattle and its not tinsel slap. It sounds like a slight crackling... like the sound you get when you dont have very good radio reception. This on a Store-boughten CD too. Its not very bad, but its noticable if you listen.

Well man i got those same speakers just 6.5. how long have u had them though? i know those speakers actually have to break in mine sounded like shit at first crackn and shit but after like a week they sounded great just needed to be broken in;)

well that amp might have pushed them too hard. i got some 6' speakers infinity 60rms running off of my pioneer 6700 headunit and they get loud. i dont think you really need an amp on those door speakers..

Yeah you don't need an amp on those door speakers man. i even talked to the guy at car tunes well sry owner and he said they sound better without an amp just mess with the setting on your Hu make em sound better an amp would probably just **** em up.

yeah the cone hittn the door panel that shit actually happened to me i had to take out the spacers mount em flat cause spacers were making the speaker touch the door panel so james could be right on that i would check that;)

1.) The speakers dont need to be broken in.. Ive had them for over a month.. lol i think they should be good by now

2.) I know theyre not hitting the door pannel.

It's not a rattling, or a tapping. Its a crackling sound, and its not bad. Its actually pretty minor, but now that I've noticed it, its driving me nuts!

I HATED these speakers un amped. Sounded like crap to me. Didnt get loud at all etc...

Would 15 more RMS than theyre rated really screw them up? Or do you guys think that the PG amp is really underrated?

Also, this is the front RIGHT speaker ONLY! The left one is fine, just the right one does this slight crackling..
