Is my setup providing enough power?

I currently have a JL J2-1000.1 (JL Audio J2 1000.1 Mono subwoofer amplifier — 1,000 watts RMS x 1 at 1 ohm at Crutchfield.com) and I was wondering if it was strong enough to properly and adequately push 2 JL 13TW5 shallow mount subwoofers (JL Audio 13TW5-3 Shallow-mount 13.5" 3-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield Signature) . I went to a local audio shop and told the guy I had this amp and was going to use it to power these 2 subs.. He told me I would be greatly underpowering them... I just want a second opinion... Please let me know. Thanks!

i wouldnt get those subs simply because that price is absolutely ridiculous..im not well versed in shallow mounts but someone can probably chime in with a better sub

thank you for the feedback, and unfortunately I dont have very many options in a jeep wrangler //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. I already purchased the subs and the amp, I just wanted to make sure I dont have to purchase another amp.

I wish I had that much money to drop, I'd have either 4 15"s or 4 18"s.

the subs are 750w rms each, running 2 would put you at 1.5 ohms.basically you would be 500w short,but they still should sound good.

It says 600w rms on the bottom if you click on specs. JL's don't need to be overpowered like many of the subs you see, they will do just fine on that power.

any suggestions on amps that are identical but dont cost out your ***... like 120$ or lower? that I can add to help power the subs?

you should have waited for the SI shallows, if they arnt back out already. but you should be happy with those.

No they aren't, they are 600 rms max

the SI's are killer. but since you have the JL's you should be fine. just dont expect them to be world beaters.
