no i have not but i have heard the w7 with the 500/1 amp and while it did sound good it deffintly wasnt even close enough to power it to its maximum performance... making it have less sq then it should.... i have been told by many dealers that i am better off going on the way i am with the 2 w3v2... not just from JL dealers but from almost all the major car audio shops in houston... i think these guys know what there talking about.. i do not disagree with yall that the w7 is better bc i know that it is.. my amp was just not simply strong enough to push it.. and yes i know that i could have upgraded it would have cost me a lot more cash.. i tihnk as of now i have the perfect amount of bass for my car.. if i had, had an SUV or somthing larger then my malibu i would have saved up for the amp.. but since this is not the case i tihnk it will hit hard for my carRockguy, have you compared the 2 to the single W6 and W7 yet? IN THE JL PREFAB BOXES?
You keep saying that your amp isn't strong enough to push it.no i have not but i have heard the w7 with the 500/1 amp and while it did sound good it deffintly wasnt even close enough to power it to its maximum performance... making it have less sq then it should.... i have been told by many dealers that i am better off going on the way i am with the 2 w3v2... not just from JL dealers but from almost all the major car audio shops in houston... i think these guys know what there talking about.. i do not disagree with yall that the w7 is better bc i know that it is.. my amp was just not simply strong enough to push it.. and yes i know that i could have upgraded it would have cost me a lot more cash.. i tihnk as of now i have the perfect amount of bass for my car.. if i had, had an SUV or somthing larger then my malibu i would have saved up for the amp.. but since this is not the case i tihnk it will hit hard for my car
i do not keep acting like im trying to inform anyone.. im simply letting u know why i choose to make my trade.. i am more then happy with my setup right now so u can stop with the bashing... plus i know that underpowering a sub will not hurt it.. but it will not sound like its supposed to soundYou keep saying that your amp isn't strong enough to push it. Underpowering the sub WILL NOT HURT IT.
You can clip that 500/1 just as quick as you can the 1000/1.
Underpowering the sub means it'll have less output.
Most people that want an SQ setup don't push 1000W watts to subs.
Nobody here cares what a dealer tells you, his job is to tell you whatever he needs to, to make money.
Do you think nobody on here is a dealer?
What credentials did this dealer have that made him/them so trustworthy?
Lastly, you keep acting like you're informing everyone here of something that we don't know, when in reality its you that needs to be lead into the light.

why are people still arguing with this kid? its pointless its like arguing w/ a rock...http://www.jlaudio.com go there and go to the w7 page.. look at the recomended power charts.. look at what it has to say.. here is a direct quote from the page "Use of less than the minimum power level will not damage the woofer, but may result in unsatisfactory performance."
yea... that was.. uh.. pretty funny //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifwhy are people still arguing with this kid? its pointless its like arguing w/ a rock...

I guess those reviews tell it allhere are a few reviews from the system i have from http://www.sonicelectronix.com
1.Review written by Matt from Tualatin, OR
I think this sub is one of the best subs money can buy. I had 2 on these running off a jl audio 500/1. WOW so loud i got 2 tickets, but sounded soo good.

3. Great SQL subwoofer. by lessismorespl May 7, 2005
I run 2 of these off a Diamond Audio D3600.1 in a custom made rear vented enclosure tuned to 40hz. These subs hit smooth, hold a bass note very well, and hold thier composer even at high volumes. A definate audiophile quality sub. Well worth the money, they are under-rated(300 wRMS), and produce some of the deepest and cleanest bass I have ever experienced in a SQL system.

great by sstatic May 18, 2005
ive had a set of the v1's which i burned up the voice coils and have had the v2's for well over a year with 500 watts to em and they perform great and keep hitting hard and clean.
have also pounded against a lot of crap in the trunk and aside from a few scuffs no damage, couple of times it really surprised me that the cone didnt get pierced.
its 500rms.. that doesnt mean its ganna always put out 500.. rms is the avg right? that means it is anywhere from 0-500So you just proved that you're arguing an invalid point. The "minimum" power is 500W, and you wouldn't be running less than that. This is what you should have quoted"From a reliability standpoint, this zone represents a very comfortable operating power range for each driver. This level of power will not stress the woofer but will not extract all of its performance potential, either."
That's not the way to look at things...its 500rms.. that doesnt mean its ganna always put out 500.. rms is the avg right? that means it is anywhere from 0-500
