Is my 2v hu holding my system back?

Just realized my hu is 2v. Is that the reason why my system isnt banging the way I think it should?

maybe, maybe not. Is your gain set accurately. Is your electrical enough to support 1200watts? Are your wiring sufficient?

If your settings are right, then no it's not. That's what the gain knob is for, to match HU voltage.

i have that amp brz 1200 and i didnt really care for it now it sits in the closet! i upgraded to a kicker zx1000 and noticed a difference!

food for thought! but also gains could be off

i set the gains with a 50hz 0db tone by ear, turned the amp up until i heard a buzzing sound then backed it off. 4 gauge wireing and 103 oem alt ,headlights barely dim

Your hu may have a sub control.

found out what was wrong , i didn't have my speakers wired for 1 ohm , i did inside the box but used both of the + and both of the - on the amp , what ohm load was I running?

That's only a single channel on that amp. Those positive and negative speaker terminals are internally bridged. What you said kinda makes no sense. Explain it better, or post pics.

The difference was in the settings not the amps. The Kicker is probably a more reliable amp though.

I had the + and - from one side on the box going to the + and - to the amp , and the side side of the box doing the same , so the + and - from the box never touched, so i twisted both + wires together and put it in the + , and did the same with the neg
