Is it better to get an external apple carplay dongle or a new Android unit with car radio with built-in carplay?

Hi，I can't download news maps to my factory as it can't recognize any SD card I input.Temporarily I used my iPhone for gps navigation. So I'd like to get the carplay feature for safe navigating? Do I get an carPlay dongle or upgrade a car stereo with builtin-carPlay? I'd prefer an external dongle if possible.

If you are satisfied with your current car stereo, the dongle may be your best route.

Yes, a dongle is needed, when you are interacting with your phone via Apple CarPlay, which essentially beams car-friendly apps directly to a touchscreen in the car. I have an XTRONS Android unit, i also bought the dongle from XTRONS, the list of features is truly impressive, boasting DAB+ Digital TV, both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
