i have an EA h/o and at idle (800rpm) it does nothing. at 1500 rpm the volt needle picks up to normal. and thats w/ an o/d pulley
I had the same problem with my 180A from EA. He paid for shipping both ways to return it to him and he built a custom smaller pulley. Now at my car's idle of 900 the alt will give power. In my experience, EA definitely has good customer service.i have an EA h/o and at idle (800rpm) it does nothing. at 1500 rpm the volt needle picks up to normal. and thats w/ an o/d pulley
That's definitely Excessive Amperage, but probably Iraggi too.I see this is common with Iraggi, from what I read he builds them in a shed out back and has no way of actually testing the alts as to what they put out, so he just kind of guesses. Or am I thinking of the wrong brand?

Mine originally came with a smaller pulley than stock - Nate made it even smaller. I'd at least check with him if you haven't. Granted it sounds like you bought it from someone who originally bought it from Nate. I'm sure he'd still help you and charge little for it.o'rly?
i dont know if it can get smaller. the nut barely fits inside. and thats what the guy i got it from did. this is the smaller pulley.
thanks for the heads up. i'll give him a callMine originally came with a smaller pulley than stock - Nate made it even smaller. I'd at least check with him if you haven't.
Its one or the other, ill look aroundThat's definitely Excessive Amperage, but probably Iraggi too.
I'd see an issue of slippage or damage to the belt or over rev'ing the alt and damaging it. The first two of which could be an expensive repair.dont use a pulley, just run the belt on the shaft //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Is your system installed? The most important part isn't how high the voltage is with HO alts, but how much current they put out. Does the voltage drop alot less now with your new alternator? When I bought my Iraggi alt for my Scion xB the voltage was 0.2V less at idle, but it was rock solid at full system volume versus dropping 1.5 volts or more with the stock alt.i got a new 240 amp amputator series that is supposed to do 165 amps on idle.my voltage drops down(mid 13v idle) worse at idle compared to my stock alt(130 amps)(high 14v idle).
my ex only does 600 at idle.
do you guys know how many rpms the idle rating on the iraggi is?
both alt does more or less 15v @ 1.2k+ rpm
im using MLA module btw.
