Intresting problem...probably easy for you guys!

So i've got my system all wired up and it's not sounding right. I've got a Panasonic HU (CQ-DFX972U) and older Rockford Fosgate 250.2 AMP and 1 JL 10W6 sub. Now i know i've got it all wired up correctly and i know both the sub and the amp work because we tested them in my friends truck and the sub hit hard. In my car it sounds below par. Some week bass and a little crackeling sometimes. My only guess could be the HU, but i dont see how that's possible. Let me know what you think, thanks!

Check the grounding on the amp and test it with a new pair of RCA's from the HU to the amp.

yea, its the old 250.2, i love this amp and would never let it go. where should i check the voltages on the amp? and if anywhere else on the car, where? thank you!

Might need to set the gains higher if your HU has less pre-out voltage than your buddies. When you say car I am assuming you mean sedan, correct? Is the sub in the trunk? Which way is it facing? Shoot the sub out the back of the car if it isn't already. See if that makes a difference.

It's a 1990 Mustang Hatchback. The voltage at the 8 AWG on the amp is 13+ volts, and the remote wire is about 12.9 volts. I dont know what else to check, im losing my mind over this thing!

yes, i unhooked the amp and box from my car, and hooked up his wiring to my amp and placed the box on my driveway, and the thing was bumping hard. Put it back into my car, and hits weak, what's wrong in my car?

hmmm not sure whats going on here other then crossover settings on the deck or the subwoofer level control on yours isn't set right.
