Internal fuses on an old Punch 150

After about 4 years of faithful service, my old punch 150 blew

2 of 4 internal fuses. The previous owner must have blown them too

because the 2 that blew were 5A and they should have been 6A.

I want to replace them, they are 32V 1AG 6A cartridge fuses. I found

some cheap 1AG 6A 125v (or less) fuses on Ebay. I think it's okay, after

all it's the amps I'm concerned with not the voltage. Please confirm if you

know.

Please confirm it does not matter if the fuse is 32V or

the amp rating I need to worry about.

I saw that too. That's just wrong.

I can't go out like that.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Fuses have a voltage a current rating. The voltage rating the max voltage that will not cause arc over across the fuse.
Sounds reasonable, so once the fuse blows due to 6A or more; in this case

125V would possibly be able to arc across the open, with the older fuse, over

32V may have arced across the open. Hence I can use the ebay fuses.

I guess.

6A 32v type 301 fuse

Ask me how I know....

I emailed with an amp tech and he said that he has placed automotive blade type fuses in there (ETA: Fuse holders soldered in place, NOT small wire) to make them easier to replace. He said he used 7 amp fuses which is what Rockford Fosgate used to recommend for heavy duty use!

blown a couple fuses too?
I know you saw my thread with the photos:D

That had to be the worst modification I have ever seen from a tech wannabe. Cut the harnesses so there are no external fuses, then solder wires across the circuits where the internal fuses are supposed to be.... Argh....

At least that nightmare is over on my end.

Oh, that was you who purchased that p150 off ebay?
