Sorry if this is in the wrong forum -- I am a real noob, admittedly. I rather unfortunately had to dremmel away this factory grill cover for the midwoofers I put into my doors because of a clearance issue. I am looking for DIY solutions (expensive OR inexpensive) on how to make it look nice again. Any fabrication gurus here got a good idea? Thanks guys!

Use a piece of Card board to make your panel diagram to trace. Take you a couple days for both panels maybe 3

1/2" screws generally work just fine.. But.. its up to you and use 3/4". Just measure the depth you want to achieve, and depth of ABS you decide go with and the cap covers. Pre=drill holes for the screws in panel before covering with the speaker felt.

Just some suggestions of what Ive used and worked for me on several vehicles. You can use whatever you want to cover with, and even use Chrome cap covers and even a stainless look if you can still find those. Im sure others can reply and make suggestions also

Absolutely amazing! Thank you SO much for doing all that work for me! I can't tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to do that. I'm going to be looking into this overnight tonight! Thanks again.

Sure man. Just take your time. I have done several like this. They turn out pretty nice and pulling the cap covers you can remove the panel and still get to the speakers, Pretty rigid

One thing I am a little uncertain about is that the door panel isn't flat in the speaker area. I'm not sure exactly how to fabricate something with a dynamic depth around the entire circumference of the speaker.

Second pic looks like it is pretty Flat.. You cut out the ABS for the Diameter of the Speaker and you can use a Larger Grill Cover if the Speaker is larger than the 6.5. and may not clear the speaker.Just look for 6.75 grills or larger

Just paint to match the interior

Got a suggestion for tools to reform metal grills into a non flat, non circular shape? I was thinking a hammer and chissel type dealio, but I'm not sure that's going to look clean hahaha! Any suggestions? Thanks for all your help!

I would do as much as you can afford when you place your new speakers in if you cant do it all now. you can always pull your door panels off later...
