interferance coming from speakers

I just hooked up an amp to my front infinity kappas and now have the squeeling interferance coming from them. I know its from running all my wires on the same side but thats really the only way for me to do it cleanly without running the speaker wire under the carpet. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the noise? Can I wrap th eamp ower cable with something to shield it?
