new to forum, not new to car stereos. after searching around i found this to be the best car audio forum.
i have an 04 silverado regular cab, and after installing my entire system, i was getting this very very tiny whine in the speakers (sounds like an alternator whine, but wasnt). So after going through the whole system and regrounding everything, redoing my rca plug grounds and basically overhauling everything, i finallyyy found the problem.
under the driver seat is where one of the airbag inflation sending units is located, turns out that when i would move the amp away from the unit the sound would go completely away (strange i know).
so i moved the unit forward about 4 inches, and wrapped it in five layers of aluminum foil and then covered under the carpet in dynamat and reinstalled everything. bam, sound permantly gone.
figured i would share, since i found this problem to be sooooo strange and maybe save people hours of frustration in a similar case.
