Insurance to replace rediculously expensive subs for something new need ideas...

QUOTE=Wingman0121;7027850]$1600 on TWO 12" subs? Call up Digitan Design and tell them you want some DDZs.

that won't even buy one ddz. talk to incriminator. for 1600.00 you can get some bad azz ia subs.

this is why insurance rates are so high. fkn douche.
Rates are high cuz Fucking people keep driving like lunatics. WTF you got to DART off the stop light for, just to stop again in a 1/8th of a mile later???

Peoples wreckless careless judgment while driving is one major reason rates are so high.

I am a lunatic sometimes. I try not to be thou... got high *** premiums from tickets, but I am being alot more careful lately...

Dude that rear ended him is the real fucking duche...

Jesus. Full coverage must be nice.
Well if you have to spend 1200$ a year on insurance anyways just to drive I may as well use it the ONE time I may have a chance to cash in on some new woofers...

I often wanted a couple DD 9500s because I have no doubt they are insane loud and Ive never run a DD sub but from what Ive heard they are geared more for SPL @40hz-ish roughly and dont care for low tuning as much as some of the others out there...

I think Ive finally made my choice...I want a SQL system that gets loud at 25-30hz, I could give a crap about getting loud @ 40-50hz as long as I can hear those freqs come in nicely. I just want some beyond nice low lows like I got ONE time with my 05 XXX 15. We all started out somewhere....So when I got my first 15 I built a nice box for it.....that wouldnt fit in the trunk...and I had to take out the woofer and angle the box sideways to try and squeeze it in the back door...needless to say my car was one big speakerbox at that time, I had a 5ft^3 box @ 30hz taking up the entire rear bench seat from door to door with a XXX 15 sitting like 4" from the back of my seat. I cutoff anything above 50hz and drove around for a week or so throwing as much power as I could to that sub @ like 30hz-ish. I finally stopped into some stereo shop and paid like 10$ to get my system metered and threw on my favorite bass cd "Unk - Beat'n Down Yo Block" "track 2 beat'n down yo block" and metered 140.8db sealed up at the windshield. My only regret is I didnt ask what kind of meter was used and the shop isnt here any longer and Ive never been to any comps to see a real TL...that was a few years ago and Ive learned a bunch since but Im still a newbie to most of the vets here and now that you see my goal I would appreciate any help possible...

I think Ive decided with a pair of the new 06+ RE XXX 12. My only concern is Ive only got 3000wrms or so to play with and Ive heard the new ones are power hungry and not as efficient as the 05 model and they might have all that excursion but it wont matter if I cant push them hard enough to get to it lol.

looking to tune box to around 28hz...

Idk if I'd get the new XXX, I've heard they are only good in HUGE sealed boxes. But I have no actual experience, just what I've heard.
I have seen the threads about that myself...I searched for about 6 hours yesterday on these forums trying to make a choice and I thought these would be my best choice for SQL. I guess I could always try it and resell them later if I didnt like it as much as I thought I would.

This makes me feel like slamming the breaks on a tailgater with my trunk full of subs.
Yea or not for me. I would have rather bought new subs when I got tired of these and not had to reduce my new 07 charger to a salvage title. getting new woofers is nice but losing value in your 20k car when you go to resell it doesnt make up for it

They have to make up for the lost resale value of the car. They can't just repair it and say "good luck."

My car is only worth about 6k so it's not a concern for me haha. And my mom just did $3200 worth of damage to the front end. That helps too.

was your box nailed down with like "L" brackets or something? I heard the only way insurance can give you something for your system if its attached to the car. anything lose is fair game.
