Installer notes...could this be bad news?

He left those notes to cover his, and CC's butt. Whoever ripped out the old alarm left a bunch of uninsulated, unterminated wires under your dashboard and he didn't want to get blamed for it next week when your car burns down.

So I should really pay someone to fix this then huh? (i dont know how) Could this be the reason my power door locks on the driver side dont work?

He is just covering his ***, and letting you know whoever worked on it before was a hack. If it is a true safety issue a good installer would have brought you back and showed you the issue and advised it could be a potential problem with the unit they installed or a hazard to the vehicles electrical.

Yeah I tried fixing that. I push the lock button and I hear the mechanism moving but it wont lock the door. I have to manually lock and unlock the door. The passenger side works fine. I took the door panel off and tried fixing it but I think the actuater is back by the door latch and i dont thiink I can get to it. It is covered by the metal door frame and it looks like the 2 peices are welded together.

Lots of GM factory actuators have a plastic piece that connects the actuator to the metal linkage they are suspect to break. Look closely at the door, some of them can be taken apart allowing easier access to the window motor and door lock mechanism.

the acuator is probly riveted into the door and could possibly be part of the door latch system. i have replaced one on each of my cars. they go bad. and i give that installer a hand for writing that stuff down. shows he cares.
