Yeah... I had a 12" RE HC with a torn surround, so I decided to fix it. It's like a 5" tear right at the cone. I used rubber cement and tissue paper to patch the surround. It's held up very well so far... I have burped it at 40hz at full tilt a few times, and played lots of bass heavy music through it.
I put it in 2.something @ thirty-something hz... I literally threw a box together in an hour and a half, and I only know it's vaguely 2.3 hz in the high 30's... I made it as more of a fart box for SPL back in Arkansas with a little daily driving potential.
I've been really happy with the output and clarity. It's got a nasty coil rub in the upper bass frequencies. It doesn't surprise me because those soft parts are really on their last leg, and I'm just waitin for them to go so I can recone.
