Installed system but tweeter problem

That's the idea behind troubleshooting a problem my brother. Trying to narrow down the possibilities. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok well if i take the rca cables off the amp the noise stops. So i ripped apart dash and took out the HU and all. RCA's seem fine. No kinks, no bare wire nothing touching. Could it still be the amp? Maybe something inside the amp is causing it when the rca's are connected?? Any ideas or places to look? All wires are perfect.

oh and it should be good wire/cables its Knuconceptz. And both sides are working now, but its the tweeters on the doors that are making this noise. Its not so much when i just turn the key, but more when the car is on and running. THen i start to drive and the sound is unbearable. Even when the stereo volume is turned right off.

hmmm when i turn the gain on the amp the noise is way way less just a little bit there. And it seems as though only one of the RCA inputs on the amp cause this. So im guessing it has to be the amp what do you guys think?

hmm. sounds you got an engine noise going to your speakers. the only way you are going to get rid of this is if you buy a noise filter. it seems your ground is picking up noise from you transmission. so just buy the noise filter and install it to your amplifier it should work.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

That's hilarious.

was this a joke that i didnt get? Just wondering cause D-C found it quite funny.

Did you install a set of Type R coaxials or components? (if you're unsure of the difference a component set will typically include a tweeter, a midwoofer, and a passive crossover module while your average coaxial is the woofer, mid, and tweeter [or however many elements it may be] all built onto the same frame with no outboard crossover)

If you've done coaxials I'm noit understanding the reference to the tweeters in the doors? Have you installed speakers plus some auxiliary tweeters?

And is the amplifier a 2ch or a 4ch?

What iluvslp was attempting (I think) to say was that your problem sounds indicative of a ground loop problem. You're picking up RF interference from somewhere (could be the alternator, could be old or poor quality plug wires, could be from the coil, could be from many different potential sources) and yes, it will fluctuate with your motor's RPMs.

This problem is almost always a bad ground somewhere and from what I have read above you've eliminated the amplifier as a possible cause. The exception would be something being faulty within the amp itself (and unfortunately with a Pyramid unit that's not unlikely)

They are 6.5 Type R 350 watt 4ohm components so yeh they include the passive crossover and tweeters. I started a newer thread about this to summarize all the main points and what ive eliminated but im almost possitive its faulty grouding inside the amp or somehting loose inside the amp. Refer to my other thread "hope this works".

alternator whine sux..... try changing the location of your ground (for the amp) and make sure your rca's arent' running right next to your power wire.
