Installed my sub, but it's not loud at all!

Does your deck have a sub output level? If so turn that ALL the way up, this will put out the maximum voltage that your deck is rated...

Set your volume at 3/4 and set your gains by multimeter..

That pioneer deck also has a loudness feature maybe you should try putting that to high if you already havent. Like the above poster said when you set the crossover on the deck for the sub's you can also turn it up. I have the same deck and I know if my loudness setting isn't on high it doesn't have alot of output.

You arent going to get much out put at all in a .635 sealed box...and is that NET or Gross Volume?
If you want to stay with a sealed enclosure, try it in 1 cube net.
It's .625 net, the manual gave the external dimesions you need to cute and it already took into account using 3/4 inch mdf and driver displacement. I guess I could try 1 cube box, they recommend a 1.25 cube box for the 12w6. I'm guessing my problem lies elsewhere though, just settings or not enough power to the amp or sub.

I'll go ahead and try that. I think I may need another multimeter though, the one I have blows ***. It worked with my other amp install, but it's not working even after a new battery now.

Just set them by ear if you have to, just pick a loud song to do it...no loudness, no bass boost...

Ask anyone who has experience with lower end pioneer decks, weak as hell if you have everything set to nada.

For your sub control, it'll need to be at +6, and it has helped some people to turn the loudness on (turn it on the "low" setting). Honestly, it sounds stupid........but for pioneer decks, it's pretty much needed.

PS: On top of that you're giving a single 10" sub 300-400 rms in a small sealed box. It's not going to be that loud......................

So on this gay head unit, there is a subwoofer output setting and it just cuts off the frequency like a low pass filter, I set this to 80hz. You can adjust this setting up to +6, which I did. There is also just a bass boost optioin, I set this to +6 as well. The loudness is still off. I'm now getting decent bass and I still have the gain turned all the way down, so I think I have solved my problem.

Now I have a question about low/high pass filters. I have them set on my amps already at 80hz, but when I adjusted the bass settings all the way up my speakers started to sound like ***, so I had to turn the high pass filter on with my deck. Should I just leave both high pass filters on with my amp and deck? I dunno if that matters. Basically it just looks like I am going to have to tweek all the settings on my deck a lot to get it to sound good. I didn't think it would be this much work to set it up lol.

But if I am going to have the bass boost at +6 all the time, shouldn't I leave the settings like that when I am setting the gain? I thought that was the general idea, because if I set the gain with the settings at zero, then turn the bass settings up later that kinda defeats the purpose. That's at least what the gain setting thread said.

Oh and I tried it by ear, but I don't really know what I am doing. I had the volume about 75% and I turned the gain from zero to about 3/4 and it was hitting pretty good and I didn't notice any clipping I don't think (too much rattling in my hatch to hear it clearly), so maybe ill have my buddy help me, or find somebody local on the forum that can assist.
