Installed Cap and tuning question

Adding a cap wont likely cause much or any performance increase, but it shouldnt cause a noticeable decrease either, unless there is a problem with the wiring and/or connections. If it is causing a noticeable problem, current restriction via resistance is your culprit. That could be from too small of wire, poor connections, or simply from a cheap cap. I agree a second, rear mounted, batt would have been a better choice.

 
Even with the added resistance of a voltmeter, it should not create a perceivable degradation of audible output levels. It would simply add to the argument that the cap isn't helping to any sizable degree, if at all.
