from a left and a right speaker, you can make a fast connect by using t-taps and male connectors.

ok im gonna be installing the whole shebang in my buddys car.. Its a Chevy Cobalt (2008), and he wants the Factory Radio kept in.. Ive did tons of installs but none with the Stock Radio. What do I need for this install, and any instructions/pointers will be appreciated.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Get the MX-4 Add-A-Sub factory radio module. It's a little more expensive (50 bucks on sonic electronics) but well worth it in my opinon, because you can adjust the strength of the signal it sends to the amp which is nice. Obviously the best thing would be the RF Three Sixty, but I'm sure that's above and beyond what your friend is looking for.

you can just get an adjustable LOC from American International for $15 that does the same thing as MX-4 just not as fancy.

Okay Bean listen to me b/c you're confusing yourself. LOC has a left speaker and right speaker input. get a wiring diagram for the plug behind the headunit. you are going to take 4 t-taps and attach to the rear left and rear right speaker wire. crimp a male connector on to each end of the leads on the LOC and connect to the corresponding leads to the t-taps. done.

What gauge are the wires that need to be tapped into on the back of the head unit?
Probably around 16 gauge, maybe more or less.

If you can't find a wiring diagram, then you could pull the speakers from the doors and see what colors the wires are and locate them on the HU harness.
