install question???

I have seen some of you guys use velcro to keep your boxes in place right? well do you just stick it to your carpets? im guessing the same concept would work with my amp rack correct? i dont feel like drilling and bolting down.

only used it a few times but you use the plastic side against the carpet not the soft side.

i always use L brackets on both sides of the box to bolt it down with a couple self tapping screws just to keep it from moving but all the amp racks i have worked with were attached to the box and made to appear as if they were floating or just bolt it to the back of the seat if possible

um..putting the amp on the box is bad?? lol

Im actually thinking about putting both amps behind my driver and passenger seat on the floor

just incase you missed it Never attach amps to boxes. if someone jacks yo stuff, they get everything in one pull.

EH to bolt it on i have to drill all the way through? something about that just erks me haha i wouldnt want to hit something important. plus i plan on putting box right up to beging of trunk were seats fold down and seal it off.

dont bolt it directly to the box build a amp rack out of 3/4 mdf and bolt a piece to the box then attach the rack to it ive never had any problems out of it done like that i even did it in a navigator with 12 12in kicker cvrs

if you want your box secure you have one choice - bolt. buy the bolt length you need, look under the car for a suitable mounting place, drill a hole in the box, drill a matching hole in the trunk floor, bolt it down (use 2 or 3 total in different places) and then seal up the inside of the box around the bolt.

ok i got it now. but for the amp racks going to be going on floors inside the cabin. what should i use for those?

secure a piece of mdf to the floor anyway you like, mount the amps to it.

well i am going to make a rack for them lol..but to secure it to the floor just use some self tapping screws? not to big so i dont puncture anything right?
