install on a 85 cutlass

You can make a small form out of MDF to raise the platform for the 6x9 and give it more clearance on the underside of the dash. Cut out a piece of MDF and mount it to the top of the dash and then mount the 6x9 to that

cut out a small piece of MDF... or maybe a few small pieces. Cut the hole for the speaker in the mdf...then drill the one or 2 pieces of MDF to the rear deck part over top of ur exisiting hole. Then put the speaker in on top of the mdf....depending on how many pieces and assuming ur using 3/4" mdf...it will give you .75" to 1.5" clearance or however much u need. peace

What I have done before is actually taken all measurments on the entire rear dash and cut out a whole piece of MDF to the same size as the back dash and replaced the original dash panel or screwed in over top of it to give more clearance. All you need to do then is carpet or cover it in your choise of material and it will match right in with the vehicle interior
