i would not have use L brackets to mount the box like that. i would screw through the box in to both false floors from Inside of the box.

Werd, I use the DMM to get an idea... and then set by ear usually. ESPECIALLY when amps are strapped, and it's such high power... it's best to set by ear.

And where'd you measure the outputs?

by outputs im thinking you mean the ##'s in my sig.
yesterday i got a new box done by JBM's friend AJ from jacksonville/georgia. he hosted a show not to long ago and there was a thread in a section on here about it.

he had a TL and he metered it after he did the box.

sealed up mic on dash by suction cups, did a bunch of tones to find peak, but i didnt realize bass was on 0 instead of +3, so i was only doing like 37-39 on diff tones. then after about 6-7tones played for 30seconds a piece im like let me play that country song, so i found out bass was down, then turned it up and did low 40.xx. then did the 45hz and did high 39.xx. so after all those tones, still doing around a 39-40 on that alan jackson, im happy, even tho i expected more.

car peaks at 43-44hz

but for a stock HU im pleased, i think with a good HU i can get 42-43.

and yea when i set my gain i played the tone, turned gain till i heard distortion then turned down a little. and didnt smell a thing after.

P.S. just driving around and bumpin with new box, its frickin amazing!

I set the gains by a DMM this morning, set to ~48v which at .5 is right around 3800. And I used the + and the - going to the slave amp.
