I have a Ma Audio 802sx, (4400 rms) amp, and a sony 110rms x4 amp ,and i would like to power them up and run them in my house (with my pioner head unit) . I know i need a AC to 12V DC power converter. But what one would be best and if not one then how many would i need. Please help

4840w at 80% efficiency means it'll really be around (4840*5)/4=6050w of power.

P=I*V so 6050w=I*12v and thus I=504a.

As a warning, my math could be dead wrong and I have no real experience with power supplies, but I'm going to guess you will either need many power supplies or one gigantic one since most that I've seen for sale don't go over 50-100a without costing a fortune.

Again, don't forget the salt.

Yeah, its going to be almost impossible to run the MA in a house without 1000s of dollars of power supplies/batts.

4400/13.5=326 amps. This is going to take ALOT of power supplies or batts, so in other words its not going to work.

You could probably get away with running the sony and the HU off a small computer power supply. Take note it might be cheaper to just run a reciever than buy a big enough power supply for your amps.

how bout this, just buy a amp from PE that is made for home audio. if u can't find one big enough there, look into a company called American Audio. they make some pretty big amps. using a car amp inside IMO is just retarted.
