Install help!!

well it seems i might have found the problem, i bought the wrong harness thinking that mine wasnt premium sound, evidently it is. (checked over on my explorer forum, have the same thread going) And i found this harness on ebay..

Now, if you notice, there are 3 harnesses for this one, and i only have 2, the one on the left is the one with the 2 wires that i think i need, now my question is, instead of buying this harness, can i just cut off the plug and wire them using a butt connector? If so, what do you think the 2 wires are? I cant find anything that tells me what they do online. On the description, it says the brown wire is a mute wire, would this cause the no sound output?

I'd get all 3. The colors may be off in that photo...that third adapter could be for the factory amp: from the photo the blue wire could be the blue/white (amp remote turn-on wire) and that brown could actually be black/white (amp ground).

Just get all 3 to be safe.

this is my factory headunit from the back, there is no amp harness, only the bottom 2 are being used. I also unplugged the one harness and i got output still, so im thinking my headunit may be bad, im about to go get it tested.

so i figured out what it is. My internal audio amplifiers are fcked up on the new deck. So now im clusterfcked.

Ok, just wanted to update here, in case anyone else ever reads this or needs help with a deck like this. There is a setting called Power IC that controls the internal amplifiers for the head unit. Ya, im an idiot, and these were turned off when i got it, making them not work and no sound coming out. Sooo...now it works. lol
