Install help.

Ok I have a 99 4 door blazer. I went to put my mmc6500 in today and the factory speaker brackets are just a little to big(like 1/4"). So do I have to buy these.http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wFl2HIh25o0/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=103200&I=120823043

Or can I make a ring out of mdf to make it fit?

MDF is a much better option. Less resonance, cheaper, and gives you some DIY pride. Well. That last part applies to me, not sure about everyone else.

No it wasn't sarcastic, just being stupid.

My only problem is that my doors where the rings would go are contoured and would be hard to cut out. Thats why I was thinking maybe I could just get the plastic piece and cover the inside in deadening material? While I deaden the rest of my doors. But if it wouldn't work that good then I will just have to become a decent wood craftsman. :lol:

Oh yeah one more thing. I ordered the same speakers for my rear door, but they are a little deep for my rear panels(my window will hit them when I roll it down). Does anyone know if there is enough room to bring the speaker out enough so it won't hit?

Some one with a blazer has to have ran into this problem before on here.
