i got shocked by a 6-cylinder truck's COIL wire. that's 6 times 4000 volts equals 24000 volts i got shocked with. it was a quarter of a second jolt but that mofo hurt like a mofo.. i thought i got shot by a shotgun or something.
the number of cylinders doesnt multiply coil output n00bx, if an ignition coil puts out 15kv (normal firing line kv) then each spark plug is fed 15000 volts...which does not feel nice...

not true. im a smog technician. if we put the RPM/tachometer clamp around a spark plug and the idle is at 800 rpm, the machine will read 800 RPM. if we clamp it around the coil wire THAT GOES TO A DISTRIBUTOR the machine will read out 4800 RPM when it is actually 800. but if we let the machine know that were using the coil wire itll do the math and divide the number by the amount of cylinders. and obviously, the RPM inductive pick-up wire uses the magnetic field around the spark plug/coil wire to know the actual RPM.. and the more current that goes through a wire the bigger the magnetic field.. so the coil wire obviously has more current going through it since the machine will give a higher RPM read-out with it... it might be the same amount of voltage across the spark plug but the current is different i think.. well anyway i got shocked by a coil wire and it gives more current than spark plugs do.. correct me if im wrong.

im an AUTO technician and this is not true. u are right in the fact that if u put the clamp around the coil wire that it will read the ACTUAL rpm times the number of cylinders but it will not increase the output of the coil. the only things that affects the output of the coil are number of secondary windings, secondary circuit resistance, dwell (amount of time current is flowing through the primary winding of the ign coil). the number of cylinders has NO affect on how much voltage ur coil puts out.

Whenever I'm working on the car, I always get those cuts you don't ever feel. Next thing I know, awwww shit there's blood on the carpet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.

u also have to remember that most spark plug wires are longer than the coil wire. on average, there is 7k ohms in 1 ft of spark plug/coil wire. less resistance=either more current flow or more voltage, and if the voltage is staying the same then only the current can go up...

car rolled over my face

Well just a few hours ago i had sandles on and had to trim down my wire well the strands got stuck in my toes and that hurt like a bit(h........then 2 days before i was cutting my wires to go in the fuse holder and i sliced all the skin off my knuckle it llooks pretty sick.

thats nothing i one of my former co-workers dropped solder in his eye while doing an alarm
ew i have dropped everyhting from tools to wire pices to tape. etc,. while under the dash doing alarms. but not sodder. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif
