install advice

Hey everyone! I am installing a 4 channel amp and a mono for my sub. I am using a pac harness to integrate with my stock hu. So i have the 2 sets of rca's for my fronts and rears going to my 4 channel amp and daisy chaining that to my mono to run the sub. Do i need a volume control for the sub or will the outs on the 4 channel control it. i obviously dont have sub control with the stock hu.Thanks.

an in line bass knob would prolly be a good idea,so you dont drown out the highs with the bass

pioneer gm 6400f and an old virge 220 mono amp i had laying around. till i get a better 1

You would have to integrate the above to get volume control on the mono amp.

I have rca's going from the outs on the 4 channel to the ins on the mono. That wont control the level. If not then ill have to use a bass knob correct??

Split the rear rca's with a y splitter and use one side to feed your mono amp with a bass knob inline.

if you split with a y splitter then the signal gets split also ,so dont do that ,daisy chaining them will work but you need the rca bass knob to control the bass

Ok thanks. Run the bass knob between the amps i guess??? So the 4 channel does not control the level going into the mono amp???

I would bridge the 4-channel to the fronts only using the front RCA output from the PAC. Use "y" adapters to input into all 4 channels of the amp. Then use the rear output of the PAC to go into the sub amp. You will have sub-volume control by using your OEM HU's fader control. If you want to hook your rear speakers up, you can wire them to the rear OEM wires on the input side (or the factory hook-up) of the PAC, (they will be pre-amp, so great for rear-fill.)

I do not know the Pioneer specifically. On any amp I have dealt with when daisy chaining, the signal is just passed through, untouched.

you could also try a pac lc2. basically an loc with a attenuation knob.
